The 2010 Llanelli Waterside Half Marathon proved to be a huge success with nearly 1600 runners out of almost 2000 who entered descending on the Town for the annual race. Runners have travelled from all across the United Kingdom to particpate in an event that was ranked the 6th best Half Marathon in the UK in 2009. This LLANELLI WATERSIDE event is rated as one of the top Half Marathons in the UK by Runners World ... this truly spectacular event is a must for anyone wanting to take part in something special.
The event is held within Llanelli's beautiful award winning Millennium Coastal Park.
It is suitable for all standards of runners, fun runners, wheelchair athletes and power walkers.
Now in its sixth year this high quality event is rapidly growing in stature.
The numbers of participants are increasing as news spreads of the slick organisation, great atmosphere, beginner friendliness, superb memento's and the many other reasons why this is in the top 10 half marathons of the Runners World 2009 road racing events calendar.
 Ideally placed on the training schedule for the Virgin London Marathon you can use this event to complement your marathon training plan.

THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Carmarthenshire's and Llanelli's coastline  is ideal for walking. Llanelli alone has over 20 kilometres of flat, safe, traffic free coastal path.
The Millennium Coastal Park encompasses the Llanelli Waterside and overlooks the spectacular Gower Peninsula.
It features an unique array of attractions linked together by a stunning 22km traffic-free coastal path / cycle-way, stretching from Bynea Gateway in the east through to Pembrey Country Park in the west.
For the activity minded there are plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling, playing golf, horse riding, fishing and canoeing.
For the more sedate there are beautiful gardens to visit such as The National Botanic garden of Wales, Norwood and Aberglasney.
